Team News – The Book Club & A Very Big Tower

Thursday, February 24th, 2011 by Matt

Life here at Eyeful Towers isn’t all about developing motion paths and debating narrative arcs (although some may challenge me on this).   Very occasionally we let the team let their hair down, relax and generally live normal lives.

As regular readers to the blog (and a hearty thank you for being there…), we thought you might like to learn a little more about what happens when the day’s work is complete:

The Eyeful Book Club

As mentioned in previous Blogs, we’re big fans of invading The White Horse Pub over the road, getting a round of drinks in and embarking on a team-wide chinwag.  2011 brought a sense of order to these informal gatherings with in the launch of the Eyeful Book Club.

So how’s it been going..?

January started off royally with MD Simon’s recommendation of One Day by David Nicholls.  Scores on the doors after some debate: 8.5/10 (a strong start, you have to admit).

February quickly loomed with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson chosen by Designer Nic.  Sadly this is where things started to unravel with only a handful of people making it all the way through the book whilst others were, frankly, a little shaken by some of the content.

Most shocking of all was that Nic herself didn’t finish – see her bow her head in shame…

Nic - Looking Shameful

Scores on the doors: TBA (the meeting has been rescheduled).

Eyeful at the Eiffel Tower

Head of Delivery and Project Management Behemoth, Liz, found herself in the city of love this Valentine’s weekend…with her Mum.  Despite pining for her husband back home, she found time to have a picture taken proudly showing off an Eyeful mug in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Eyeful & Eiffel

A monumental occassion for both parties, I’m sure (we’re quite surpised it didn’t make the papers…)

There will be more “on-the-spot” reports from the Eyeful team in the near future (we find that people like to know about the gang looking after their precious presentation).

Oh, and if we sound like the sort of company you’d like to work with, check out our vacancies here.
