Heard the one about the Porn Presentation..?

You may have missed the news of the CEO who had his PowerPoint presentation ambushed by a disgruntled employee.  Halfway through an important presentation, his slides changed from the usual revenue charts and strategic positioning to, well, a pornographic image. Porn Icon

Whilst we can all snigger and wallow in the schadenfreude, it raises an interesting point.

Do you really control your own presentation?  What about your corporate presentation?  How much control do you have over this?

Our recent survey highlighted the fact that the majority of presentations are neither reviewed nor controlled regularly.

One final question: can you put your hand on your heart and say that your sales team is delivering a presentation that is on-brand, on-message and with up-to-date content?

Or, like many, are their decks a “Frankenstein’s Monster” of odd slides – some on brand, some knocked up by an enthusiastic (but amateur) colleague and some that are simply incorrect?

Lack of presentation control comes in many forms…not all as racy as a pornographic picture but equally damaging to reputation.
