Busy (but clueless)

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012 by Simon Morton

Having revisited a YouTube favourite of mine yesterday (at lunchtime – honest) I have decided to share it with you all.

The comedic masterpiece in question is the Armstrong and Miller ‘What’s my job?’ sketch and the really interesting thing about it is why it’s so funny.

It’s funny because it’s so close to the bone. We’ve all met people who we might charitably call ‘busy fools’.  We know they’re always moving at a million miles an hour and seem only to have time to tell us how busy they are – but what do they actually do??

In the real world it’s (hopefully) rare that they don’t even know themselves – so this one goes out to everyone who’s ever left a presentation thinking ‘nice bloke*, I wish I knew what he was talking about’.

*whilst we can neither confirm nor deny that nice blokes may have a better golf handicap and/or a more voluptuous spouse, we can definitely confirm that Presentation Optimised blokes get more sales.
